ALBANY — Pioneer's Mike Rigerman placed fourth and Olean's Patrick Walsh sixth Saturday in Division 2 competition at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships at the Times Union Center.

The second-seeded Rigerman wrestled three overtime matches at the state tournament, winning two. The 220-pound junior's loss came in four OTs, 4-3, to No. 6 seed Reggie Poulin of Cohoes (Section 2) in the semifinals.

His hopes of a state title dashed, Rigerman rebounded in the consolation semifinals, pulling out a 2-1 overtime decision over South Seneca's Keagan Carmenatty. He then lost 6-2 in the consi finals to Jack Binder of Warrensburg-Bolton (Section 2).
