INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The NCAA released its at-large bids for the upcoming National Championships on Tuesday and University at Buffalo heavyweight Jake Gunning earned an invite. Gunning is now a two-time national qualifier and will join Bryan Lantry who earned a spot at 133 lbs. after finishing second at the Mid-American Conference Championships over the weekend.

Gunning, who also competed at the NCAAs a season ago, has an overall record of 17-6 on the year. He went 2-2 at the MAC Championships and placed fourth. Gunning, the 2017 heavyweight MAC Champion, went 0-2 at the 2017 NCAA Championships.

Lantry has now qualified for the NCAAs for the third time in his career, just the fifth UB wrestler to accomplish the feat. The redshirt-junior is 16-5 on the season and ranked 15th in the nation. Lantry came within an eyelash of the podium last year, falling in overtime of the eighth-place match.

The NCAA will announce the seedings and brackets on Wednesday at 6 pm.
