Four thousand law enforcement officers from over 15 states, including Wyoming, Texas, Utah, California and Canada gathered Sunday morning at Alfred University as funeral services were conducted for slain New York State Trooper Nicholas Clark.

A two-time All-American linebacker for Alfred University's Saxons football team and a three-year public servant in his home region of Steuben County, friends and colleagues said Clark will be remembered as a loyal member of State Police, an outstanding athlete and an all-American great guy.

"He's the type of guy that if you're going into battle, you want him coming with you," said State Trooper Major Richard Allen of Troop E.
