ALFRED — One of Section V's most highly decorated wrestling coaches will take over as Alfred State's head coach beginning this fall.

Alfred State Director of Athletics Jason Doviak has removed the interim title and has named Rob Hirsch the head wrestling coach for the Pioneers.

Hirsch served as the interim head coach last year and has been with the program the past three years.

"The thing I am most excited about is this will be our first year in NCAA D-III," Hirsch said. "To develop it from the grass roots program we've had and then developing it into a NCAA D-III program is something we are very proud of. To elevate young men into becoming better men that's the exciting part."
