Sixteen teams will compete at the Gordon Field House

ROCHESTER, NY - Sixteen teams will converge on the Gordon Field House and Activities Center on the campus of RIT for the 53rd annual RIT Wrestling Invitational on Saturday, Dec, 1. Action will begin at 9 a.m. and will be available to view and follow online at TrackWrestling.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute will look to defend its team title. Case Western Reserve, John Carroll University, Keystone College, New England College, Norwich University, Oneonta State University, Oswego State University, University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, RIT, Scranton University, Thiel College, Trinity College, SUNY Ulster, Wesleyan University, Williams College and WPI are slated to compete.

The Tony Wallace Memorial Award will be given to the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the meet. The award honors Wallace, a member of the RIT Athletics Hall of Famer and three-time All-American wrestler. Wallace, a native of Loveland, Ohio, was an All-American wrestler at RIT from 1998-2002. He was just the third member in the history of RIT wrestling to earn three All-American honors, finishing his career with a 108-27 record. He died on Aug. 28, 2010, while on duty with the Hoonah (Alaska) Police Department. Wallace, a business administration major, was an assistant coach for the Tigers from 2003-05 and worked in the RIT Office of Public Safety from 2005-08.
