HORNELL — New Year’s Eve might be a big deal for the rest of the country, but for several local wrestling programs, the new year does not officially begin until the Hornell State Farm Classic takes place.

The annual elimination-style tournament takes place tomorrow, Jan. 5 in the Hornell High School with the first rounds beginning at 10 a.m. This year, 11 different programs will make the journey to HHS, mostly consisting of the local teams like Hornell, Arkport/Canaseraga, Bolivar-Richburg, Alfred-Almond, Dansville/Keshequa, Fillmore, Jasper-Troupsburg, Wellsville and Wayland-Cohocton/Livonia.

Addison and Brockport will also be in attendance, meaning that the level of competition will be as high as its ever been.
