Niagara County Community College won three matches as part of this past weekend's Kent State Tuscarawas Duals. NCCC knocked off Slippery Rock (33-9), Grand Valley State (28-19) and the host Golden Eagles (43-12). The Thunderwolves are now 7-5 in dual meets this season.

Sophomore C.J. Walz was among four wrestlers that went 3-0 at the event. The 133-pounder was dominant throughout, picking up two first-period pinfalls and an 18-0 technical-fall victory. Also finishing unblemished were Greg Quinn (125), Freddy Eckles (141) and Anthony Bell (157). Among those with two wins were Sergio Crespo, Matt Genau, Katrell Jackson and Michael Phelps.

NCCC is next in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday as it hosts Region III rival Mercyhurst North East, which earned a narrow 24-19 win vs. the Thunderwolves this past November.
