Brockport Wins Twice At Alfred State Tri-Meet

ALFRED, N.Y.—The College at Brockport wrestling team dominated against both teams they face off against on Tuesday, starting off with a 50-0 shutout of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The Golden Eagles followed up that performance with another impressive 43-6 win over the host school, Alfred State. With the pair of victories, the Green and Gold hold a 6-1 record as they look to the tail end of their schedule.

Win: Brockport 50 - University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 0

Brockport took home three automatic victories with Matt Caccamise (125), Ryan Snow (149) and Zack Brown (157) earning wins via forfeits. Another trio of Golden Eagles earned quick pin falls, each going in under the three minute first period. Donny McCoy (133) pinned his opponent in just 1:19, while Chris Eames (174) and Bryce Rowe (184) secured the victory in 2:04 and 2:37 respectively. Jackson Bell dominated in the 165-weight class, earning an 18-0 technical fall. Zack Barker (141), Joe Yanis (197) and Boaz Smart (HWT) each recorded decisions that varied in score. Barker defeated his opponent 6-1, while Yanis won 5-1 and Smart walked away with an 8-6 score. The Green and Gold didn't drop a bout as they shutout the opposition, 50-0.

Win: Brockport 43 - Alfred State 6

The Green and Gold continued the dominance into their second set of matches against the host Pioneers. Caccamise took care of his opponent in the second period, earning a pin fall in 4:14 at the 125-weight class. McCoy (133), Barker (141) and Snow (149) each walked away with six points due to forfeits. After the team's first defeat of the afternoon, Bell (165) took care of business with a 15-4 major decision, before Eames took the 174-weight class bout due to another forfeit. Rowe (184) and Yanis (197) earned the last two victories for Brockport, with Rowe taking home a 3-0 decision and Yanis securing a pin fall in 2:32.
