Centorani: Wrestling season needs to be lengthened
January 30, 2019

Some things you don’t forget because you just can’t.

In 1998, during my first stint with the Press & Sun-Bulletin, I was in my last of four straight seasons covering high school wrestling. Best part about the gig was reporting on the state tournament.

In those days, it was held at the War Memorial in Syracuse. It was something I looked very much forward to working.

Couldn’t go in ’98. I became a father for the first time, believe it was on the tournament’s first day. Stephen Robert Centorani joined the roster March 6, 1998.

Other than lamenting the fact I haven’t had any money since that day, I bring this up for two reasons: 1, I can’t believe 21 years have gone by so fast; and 2, To ask what happened to the last two weeks of the wrestling season?
