Bulls Host Ohio in Senior Day Dual on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo wrestling team will host Ohio on Sunday afternoon in the second of three straight home duals. The Bulls are in search of their fourth straight win and have won seven of their last nine dual matches.

Buffalo is coming off a thrilling 18-17 win over Central Michigan on February 8. Trailing 17-13 heading into the final match, Troy Keller earned the technical fall over Blake Montrie to give the Bulls the one-point victory. Buffalo is 10-4 in duals and have won double-digit dual matches for the third time in the last four years.

The Bulls have two wrestlers in the national rankings. Senior Bryan Lantry is ranked eighth at 141 lbs. and senior Jake Gunning is ranked 14th at heavyweight.

Ohio is 7-5 in duals on the season and is coming off a 34-9 win at Bloomsburg on Friday night. The Bobcats have three wrestlers in the national rankings, led by Cameron Kelly who is ranked 16th at 141 lbs.

It will be the 22nd meeting between the schools. Ohio leads the all-time series, 17-4. The Bulls won last year's meeting, 27-9, at Ohio.

Prior to the dual, eight seniors will be honored. Kyle Akins, Jason Estevez, Jake Gunning, Ian James, Bryan Lantry, Justin Patrick, Brett Perry and Alex Smythe will all be celebrated for their UB wrestling careers.
