Legendary professional wrestler and Buffalo native Dick "Destroyer" Beyer died Thursday at his home in Akron, his son Kurt wrote on Facebook.

Beyer, whose career spanned nearly 40 years and included nearly 8,000 matches in the United States and Japan, was 88.
