April 15, 2019

By his own admission, Jeff Prescott had no idea there was such a thing as the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame … until he got a call seeking background information about a month ago.

But, late this week it was announced that he was part of this year's class of 13 inductees that includes Salamanca's Chuck Crist, who played seven seasons with three NFL teams plus Buffalo's Joe Horrigan (executive director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame), Ed Hughes (former NFL head and assistant coach), Travis Mayer (U.S. Olympic medal-winning skie) and Peter Scamurra (first player from the city to sign an NHL contract).
