JCC falls on the road at the Thiel College Duals

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Jamestown Community College wrestling team went 0-2 Friday evening at the Thiel College Duals.

The Jayhawks (1-2) fell to NCAA DIII opponent Lycoming College, 51-4. JCC's lone victory came when Dan Torres (174) avenged his lone lost on the season, defeating Hayden Swartwood by a 6-1 decision. Last week, Torres fell to Swartwood in the first-place match of the Washington & Jefferson Invitational.

In their final match, JCC fell to host Thiel 44-6. The Jayhawks lone victory came in the 174-pound class when Torres picked up a win via forfeit. Kason Smeltzer (125) fell in a narrow match, being edged out by Kace Sabedra in a 2-1 decision.

The Jayhawks will be back in action this Wednesday at 7 p.m. as the take on Mercyhurst North East in their home opener.
