Shaheim Bradshaw takes fourth and Don Ooton finishes fifth at NCAA Championships

Don Ooton earns All-American honors with fifth place finishSenior Don Ooton (Virginia Beach, VA/Great Bridge) and junior Shaheim Bradshaw (Huntington, NY/Huntington) each repeated their All-American performances from a year ago by placing among the top-8 in their respective weight classes at the NCAA Championships in Dubuque, Iowa Saturday.

Ooton dropped into the consolation bracket Friday after a quarterfinal loss and won his way to the consolation semifinal before a 4-0 loss dropped him into the bout for fifth place. Ooton scored a 9-3 decision over Jacob Larson from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse to finish fifth.

Bradshaw advanced to the championship semifinals before losing his first bout of the championships. In the consolation bracket, he dropped a 3-2 decision to Wisconsin-LaCrosse's Tim Palmer for his fourth place finish.

The other two wrestlers representing SUNY Brockport, Brett Giehl (Rochester, NY/Greece-Athena) and Eric VanPatten (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) were both eliminated from the tournament on Friday night.
