Bearcats target strong competition, will host seven duals and Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open

VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton wrestling program has announced its 2021-22 schedule, it's first complete schedule since the 2019-20 season. The Bearcats will take on competition from the Big 12, Pac 12, Big Ten, ACC, and the MAC before diving into EIWA matches in the latter part of the campaign.

"Our schedule was designed so that we will wrestle many of the top ranked opponents across the country," head coach Kyle Borshoff said. "I'm looking forward to seeing how we stack up against the best."

Binghamton's slate features five nationally ranked programs (InterMat), and three tournaments that will feature some of the best wrestlers in the country.

The Bearcats open the season at Rutgers (Nov. 6) in a quad dual (other teams To Be Announced) before returning home for the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open on November 14.

The team will remain at home for the final weeks in November to face Stanford (Nov. 21) and Buffalo (Nov. 28). The matchup with the Cardinal is Binghamton's second in program history, as the Bearcats defeated Stanford 22-13 in 2010.

Other non-conference competition includes the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 3-4), home matches with North Dakota State and Edinboro (Dec. 10), the Midlands Championships (Dec. 28-29, hosted by Northwestern) and duals with Virginia Tech and West Virginia (Jan. 9 at Virginia Tech).

In EIWA home duals, BU will face off against Drexel (Jan. 15), Columbia (Jan. 28), and Navy (Jan. 30).

On the road, the team will take on Sacred Heart (Dec. 18), Lehigh (Jan. 7), Hofstra (Jan. 22), LIU (Jan. 22), Cornell (Feb. 12), and Harvard (Feb. 19).

EIWA Championships are scheduled to take place on March 4-6 at Cornell, while NCAA Championships will be held from March 15-17 in Detroit, MI.
