ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Sophomore Josh Post was named Empire Collegiate Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week, Thursday. First-year wrestler Josh Post's 4-0 record and first-place finish helped No. 17 RIT to third place at the Mideast Futures Tournament last weekend in Allentown, Pa., after a pair of falls, a technical fall and a decision. Post won the 141-pound bracket with a 6-2 decision against Cortland's Vincent Santilli, after pinning Alva's Paul Kakos in 4:09 in the semifinals. Prior to the semifinal win, Post took an 18-3 technical fall over Gettysburg's Anthony Cascio in the quarterfinals before beginning with a fall against Cortland's Ryan Hart in 6:35. First-year RIT wrestler Clay Rankin was an ECWC Rookie of the Week Honor Roll recipient after recording a 5-1 record and third-place finish at the Mideast Futures Tournament with four falls and a technical fall in the 133-pound bracket. Wrestling next travels to Elizabethtown, Pa. for the NCAA Mideast Regional on Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26. Comments |
