Rochester, N.Y. -- The Bombers, ranked 13th nationally, competed at the 39th annual Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational on Saturday. Ithaca won the event for the second consecutive year, with a score of 140.0. Seven Bombers placed in the top six of their respective weight classes. Junior Marc Israel (Liberty/Bethlehem, Pa.) won the 165 pound weight class. Israel, ranked seventh nationally, has placed in all four tournaments he has wrestled in this season and has won two of them. Junior K.C. Beach (Brentwood/Brentwood), ranked sixth nationally at 157 pounds, finished third. Both Beach and Israel earned their 60yh career wins. Freshman Nick Calandrino (Emerson/Emerson, N.J.) won his first three matches as a Bomber and finished second at 197 pounds. Sophomore Scott Aronowitz (Clarkstown North/New City) placed fourth at 141 pounds and earned his 10th win of the young season. Ithaca hosts Oswego Wednesday at 7 p.m. in its first duel match of the season.
