Mike Silvis was recently hired as an assistant coach for the Brockport wrestling program. Silvis will assist Head Coach Sam Recco with all facets of Brockport's nationally recognized wrestling team.

"The team and I are very excited to welcome Coach Silvis aboard," said Recco. "He'll be a great addition to my staff & will really help out the upper weights with his experience and knowledge of the sport."

Most recently, Silvis was the head coach for the Holley-Kendall High School wrestling team in 2019-20 and he was the top assistant coach for the same program in 2018-19.

He spent four seasons on the mat as a Division I wrestler for the University at Buffalo (2013-17). He attended Holley High School and was a two-time New York State Tournament place finisher, including a third-place finish at states in 2013.

Silvis graduated from the University at Buffalo with a degree in Health and Human Services and he currently resides in Holley, NY.

Brockport wrestling is one of the most storied programs in NCAA Division III history. The Golden Eagles have claimed five NCAA Division III Team National Championships, 27 Individual National Champions, 27 conference titles, and produced 147 All-Americans.
