Bearcats wrestle in their first EIWA dual of the season

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton wrestling competes in their first EIWA dual of the season against LIU on Saturday, December 10. The Bearcats are expected to receive early team points in this dual as LIU is projected to forfeit bouts at 125 lbs and 133 lbs. Binghamton has three wrestlers ranked in InterMat's latest poll. Cory Day entered the rankings at heavyweight for the first time this season. Jacob Nolan and Lou DePrez are ranked in the top 20 of their respective weight classes. Binghamton won last season's dual against LIU, 28-13.

Early in the season, Binghamton wrestled three of their six duals against opponents that have appeared in the NWCA top 25.
The Bearcats dropped two duals against Michigan State (now ranked No. 25) and Indiana at the Garden State Grapple last weekend.
Sam DePrez and Cory Day picked up decision wins against Michigan State.
Dimitri Gamkrelidze, Jacob Nolan, and Lou DePrez all earned bonus points for the Bearcats against Indiana. Both Nolan and DePrez won by fall, while Gamkrelidze won by major decision.

LIU Notes

LIU picked up an 18-17 win against Sacred Heart on Nov. 12 in Bethlehem, Pa.
Despite only wrestling in two duals, LIU has competed in four individual tournaments.
Blake Bahna claimed an individual title at 174 pounds at the Journeymen Classic.
