Bulls Fall at #18 North Dakota State on Sunday

FARGO, ND - The University ta Buffalo wrestling team faced a nationally-ranked program for the fifth time already this season and fell to 18th-ranked North Dakota State, 30-6, in Fargo, ND on Sunday. Featuring five wrestlers in the national rankings, the Bison used their experience to defeat the young UB squad.

Giuseppe Hoose continued his hot start to the season by rallying to win a 12-8 decision over Deanthony Parker in the 184-pound bout. Hoose trailed 7-3 in the third period before earning two takedowns and a four-point nearfall to pull out the win. The redshirt-senior improved to 11-2 overall and 8-2 in duals on the season.

Sam Mitchell followed with a 6-0 decision over Spence Mooberry at 197. After a scoreless first, Mitchell got an escape and a takedown in the second and added another takedown in the third to earn the shutout win.

"Hoose had a great win. He is wrestling hard and putting points on the board," head coach John Stutzman said. "Sam Mitchell also wrestled vey well. Overall, it was the same story. We started slow and lost some close matches."

The Bulls will be back in action next Sunday when they host Edinboro and Bucknell at Alumni Arena.
