Roes upsets No. 24 Trombley in match opener at 125 pounds.

RALEIGH, N.C. - Binghamton wrestling dropped its toughest test of the season to No. 6 North Carolina State at James T. Valvano Arena at William Neal Reynolds Coliseum on Friday night. Micah Roes upset No. 24 Jarrett Trombley in overtime at 125 pounds, 3-1. North Carolina State entered the dual as the nation's best ACC team and featured eight ranked wrestlers in their high-powered lineup.

Highlights
In the match opener, Micah Roes defended the fast pace set by Jarrett Trembley in the first half of the bout. In the second half of the bout, Roes continued to battle hard and he ultimately became the aggressor in the third period. For a brief moment, Roes was in on a single-leg with under 10 seconds left in the third, but the bout went to sudden victory. Roes' persistence finally paid off late in the sudden victory portion of overtime. Roes shot a single leg with 40 seconds left in sudden victory, and he eventually scored the winning the takedown on that attempt with nine seconds left to record an upset win, 3-1.
