ITHACA, N.Y. - Senior Charlie Grygas earned his third trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday by winning the 174-pound weight class at the Mideast Regionals hosted by Ithaca College. Fellow senior Logan McGloine joined Grygas in earning All-Region honors with a sixth-place finish in his weight class.

THE BASICS

Final Team Score: Oswego State 37.5 Points (14th of 21)

Location: Glazer Arena, Ithaca, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the 157 pound weight class, McGloine went 1-2 on Saturday with a decision victory over Oneonta's Max Yahre (5-2).

The big story was Charlie Grygas, who steamrolled his way past Elizabethtown College's Ganon Smith (Dec, 7-5) in the semifinal, and Muhlenberg College's Anson Dewar (Dec, 5-2) in the final to claim first place in the 174-pound weight class.

Grygas finished third in 2020 to earn his trip to Nationals and lost a razor-thin 9-8 decision to earn second place in 2022 and a bid.

Junior Kaleb Carreon earned five points for the Lakers during the Regional.
Bryce Smith picked up a pair of victories to help the team score while Anthony Cascen and Tyler Rossini were the other point scorers.

WHAT'S NEXT

The NCAA Division III Championship starts March 10 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, V.A.
