BUFFALO, NY - University at Buffalo wrestling head coach John Stutzman has announced the signing of 14 wrestlers to his newest class of recruits. The newest class includes six High School All-Americans and five state champions and comes from eight different states, including New York (5), Pennsylvania (2), Ohio (2), New Jersey, Florida, Missouri, Massachusetts and Maryland.

"This class came together really well," Stutzman said. "We are extremely excited to add these young men to our UB wrestling family. These 14 student-athletes represent what our program is built on and we are excited to watch these young men grow and develop."

Here is a breakdown of the 2023 signing class.

Holy Spirit HS
Max Elton was a three-time state qualifier and two-time state placer for Holy Spirit High School in New Jersey... ranked 18th nationally and was a member of the New Jersey National Team... had a career record of 110-30... went 36-6 as a senior and won the Region 8 and District 31 crown... placed fifth at the Beast of the East and was a two-time Escape the Rock placer.

Caleb Brooks is a transfer from Northern Illinois where he spent five seasons and was a member of the MAC Honor Roll... went 14-25 over his career with the Huskies, including eight dual wins... was a four-year letterwinner at Canal Winchester High School in Ohio where he posted a 41-3 record with 32 pins as a senior... had a career record of 176-18... holds the school record for career pins with 122... was a four-time state placer and a NHSCA All-American.
