Five Niagara County wrestlers entered with a shot for a state championship, but glory eluded them.

After entering the semifinals with nine total wrestlers, the quintet of Wilson's William Wortkoetter and Jacob Stephenson and Newfane's Jakob Lucinski (Division II) and St. Francis' Griffin LaPlante and Zach Caldwell (Division I) finished runner-ups in their respective weight classes to conclude the 61st NYSPHSAA wrestling championships Saturday night at MVP Arena in Albany.
