Wrestlers Complete Successful Trip Adverse traveling conditions and poor officiating are ascribed as the reasons for Alfred's disappointing defeat at Northfield, Vt., on Feb. 13. The team was forced to traverse sixty-five miles of flood country after spending the two preceding nights on a sleeper to reach Northfield but one hour before the match was called. Consequently the Purple were in no condition for the meet and lost to a distinctly mediocre team by the score of 20-1/2 to 6-1/2. The Alfred Sun, February 23, 1928. Click for larger image.
