ALBANY — Mike Rigerman's bid for a state wrestling title remained alive as the Pioneer junior 220-pounder went 2-0 Friday on the opening day of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships.

Of five Pioneer and Olean wrestlers competing, only Rigerman advanced to today's Division 2 semifinals at the Times Union Center, although Olean junior Patrick Walsh also still has a chance to place. Action resumes at 10 a.m., with finals beginning at 6:30 p.m.
