Tonawanda's Braddell places third at state wrestling meet
February 28, 2018

Zach Braddell's goal was simple heading into this past weekend's New York State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany: win a state title.

Unfortunately, the Tonawanda junior's dream did not become a reality, placing third overall in Division II at 126 pounds.

"I thought he wrestled awesome," Tonawanda coach Dan Bishop said. "He literally put it on the line in all of his matches. He got bonus points in all of his matches except one match. He really dominated. It was really fun to watch. It was also rewarding for myself and coach [Jordan] McGregor to sit there and enjoy the ride."
