When wrestling begins Friday at the high school state championships in Albany, six wrestlers from schools within Section V will go on to mats as No. 1 seeds, the favorites to win their weight classes.

This status as wrestlers to beat guarantees little when it comes to tying up with opponents from every corner of the state, including New York City and Long Island.
