While Spencerport wrestler Mason Wersinger has wrestled at two high school state championships, there were no guarantees he would return this time around.

While Wersinger was not concerned, his loss to Nick Sanko during Section V's SuperSectionals finals last weekend, meant the automatic pass into the state meet for Division I at 145 pounds went to the Pittsford Sutherland sophomore.

Wersinger, a senior, had to wait to see if his season was over or if he would advance to states.
