Hannibal/Cato-Meridian's Hunter White and Mexico's Dean Shambo remember what it was like to pay their dues.

Both seniors started on their respective varsity wrestling teams when they were in seventh grade. What little success they had back then didn't come easy, but they knew that the work would pay off if they stuck with it.

White and Shambo have worked their way into becoming the top wrestlers in Section III and will compete in the New York State Championship Tournament this weekend at the Times Union Center in Albany.
