ALBANY — For Perry's Brock Conaway, there was one thing on his mind throughout his senior season and that was becoming a state champion. On Saturday night, inside a packed Times Union Center in downtown Albany, the Yellow Jackets' phenom achieved his top-goal and won the first NYSPHSAA wrestling title in his school's history. To take the Division II Title at 182 pounds, Conaway, who was seeded seventh, topped No. 1 Ethan Cooper of Cobleskill-Richmondville by a 6-4 decision in the final.

"This is a goal I've had for a long time ever since i started wrestling," said Conaway to NYSPHSAA's Chris Watson following his championship match. "Last season (at states) I went 1-and-2 and was a little disappointed. This season I came in as the seven seed and was like nah - we're going to the top of the podium this year. No regrets."
