Ryan Bitka wanted to finish on the podium to conclude his high school wrestling career and the Amherst senior accomplished his goal, finishing eighth at 285 pounds at this past weekend's New York State Public High School Athletic Association Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany.

"Overall, I thought I wrestled great throughout the tournament and it was a great way to end my career," Bitka said.

The senior is the seventh Amherst wrestler to compete in the state tournament and third to compete twice.
