ALBANY - Alexander senior Mitch Gaiser advanced to Saturday's NYSPHSAA Division II 152-pound final only to come up one point short of bringing home his family's second state championship.

Mitch, whose brother Matt Gaiser is a former state champ, battled his way past No. 1 seed, Gouverneur's Vanadavian Way, 3-2, in the semifinal round but was ousted by Tioga's Ousmane Duncanson, 2-1, in the title match.
