2008 Empire State Games
The 31st Annual Empire State Games were held in and around the Binghamton, NY area. The opening ceremony was on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, and the games ended on Sunday, July 27, 2008. The Empire State Games was the first amateur sporting event of its kind when initiated in 1978, and served as the model for the ensuing 39 states that took up the popular sporting extravaganza.
