The Avon Braves won the Cal-Mum Duals Tournament for the second straight year on January 9, 2016. They beat a gritty Holley team in the 2nd round 49-33, a win that ultimately served as the finals victory over the runner-up. There were some standout personal performances, but none more than senior Zack Loomis, who got his 100th win during the Holley dual, eventually going 5-0 and securing the Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Other undefeated wrestlers included Nick Hall, Danny Cook, Jon Robinson, Ryan Blood, Tim Baumer, and Tristen Prine, who all went 5-0. Joye had a tough day, going 1-2 while bumping up weight classes twice and losing two heartbreakers by minor decision (7-2 & 4-3). She's now 15-7 on the season.
