When the New York State Public High School Athletic Association wrestling championships commence Friday at the Times Union Center in Albany, the Southern Tier Athletic Conference West division will be well represented.

Elmira will send a program-record five wrestlers to states, while Horseheads will have three wrestlers competing for a state championship, marking the largest contingent of Blue Raiders to qualify in the same season. Combined, Elmira and Horseheads will wrestle in eight different weight classes in the Division I bracket.
