Niagara County Community College finished in 10th place (47.5 points) at this past weekend's NJCAA National Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It was the highest finish among Northeast District I competitors.
The Thunderwolves had four grapplers finish as All-Americans: Zach Colgan (157, 6th place), Anthony Liberatore (184, 6th place), Cody McGregor (149, 8th place) and Alex Kelly (174, 8th place).
Kyle McGregor (133), John Riena (141), Griffen Kent (197) and Marshall Taylor (285) also competed at the event. More details will follow.
First Team All-Northeast District I wrestlers included: Kyle McGregor (133), Colgan (157), Kelly (174), Liberatore (184) and Taylor (285). Second-team finishers were: Riena (141), Cody McGregor (149) and Griffen Kent (197). Harrison Flint (125) was a third teamer, while head coach Keith Maute was named Coach of the Year by his peers.
