Liam Heslin watched the state wrestling ceremonies from the stands of Times Union Center two years ago.

Heslin, then a Tuxedo sophomore, didn't think placing in the top six was a possibility after a second-place finish in Section 9.

Two straight section titles later, Heslin, now a Chester senior, took his spot among the state's best Division II (small school) 160-pounders with three victories over the weekend in Albany.

Heslin earned Chester's first state medal in the program's eight seasons with a sixth-place finish.
