The North Tonawanda senior lost to Penfield sophomore Frankie Gissendanner, 10-4, in the Division I 145-pound finals at the New York State Championships on Saturday at the Times Union Center in Albany.
"He ran into a buzzsaw," North Tonawanda coach Dan Fire said. "Gissendanner was ranked seventh in the nation. He was very good on his feet and was good on takedowns. He was strong, fast and had good technique. He caught Troy a couple times. Troy did his best against him but could not overpower him. It was a tough match for him."
