Niagara County Community College head coach Keith Maute was named the New York State Collegiate Wrestling Coaches Association's Coach of the Year this past week.
Maute led the Thunderwolves to a 7-3 dual-meet record and a 10th-place finish at the NJCAA Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa. NCCC was also runner-up at the Region III/Northeast District I Championships and 13th at the New York State Championships.
Maute, the 2015-16 Region III/Northeast District I Coach of the Year, coached four grapplers - Zach Colgan, Alex Kelly, Anthony Liberatore and Cody McGregor - to NJCAA All-American honors this past winter.
