When Yianni Diakomihalis walked into the Webster Schroeder gymnasium for the Monroe County Wrestling Championships, the Hilton senior noticed a few wide-eyed stares.
The high school wrestling fans were no doctors, but even they could see that the two-time world cadet freestyle champion would not be in action that night last week or any time soon.
Diakomihalis, a four-time state champion, expects to return to No. 1 state-ranked Hilton's lineup in about five or six weeks after undergoing surgery last Thursday to begin healing his broken right elbow.
