Freshman, Nate Schiedel was the only champion for Caledonia-Mumford Red Raiders at the 2005 Class BB Sectional Championships. Schiedel secured the 152-pound championship by defeating Nick Mayville of Marion by a major decision score of 14-2. Cal-Mum also had two other wrestlers who earned a trip to next weekends Super Sectionals at SUNY Brockport. Tim Sullivan finished in 4th place in the 135-pound weight class and David Griffin also finished in 4th place in the 145-pound weight class. The Raider wrestling team finished in 9th place for the tournament.

The Warsaw Tigers rallied to defeat the Bolivar-Richburg Wolverines. The Tigers entered the Championship and Consolation rounds trailing by 10 points. The Tigers were able to win sufficient matches overcome the deficit and narrowly defeat the Wolverines 205 to 198.5 to gain the 2005 Class BB Team Title. Marion finished 3rd with 177 points followed by Kendalll and Pavilion with 133 and 126 points respectively.

The Most Outstanding Wrestler (MOW) in the lightweight classes (96 lbs -140 lbs.) was Bolivar-Richburg's Andrew Taylor. Taylor nipped Nick Hasbrouck of Marion on an escape just before the end of the second overtime to win the 125-pound class by the score of 3 to 2. The match was one of several close matches in the final and was probably the most exciting. For his effort and the class that he displayed in defeat, Nick Hasbrouck was awarded the Sportsmanship Award. It was truly a great match and a great display of sportsmanship. Tyler Luders of Pavilion was the MOW for the heavyweight classes (145-275). Luders defeated Ben Rice of Perry in the night's second most exciting match. Though both wrestlers were obviously physically spent, they each kept digging deep within themselves summoning the strength to keep himself in the match. Rice scored points late in regulation to force the overtime period and Luders scored a takedown as time was running out in the first overtime to win the close match and claim the 189-pound championship.

Bolivar-Richburg's coach Rich Schubmehl was recognized as the Class BB coach of the year. Coach Schubmehl guided the Wolverines to an undefeated, 10-0 record. During the season the Wolverines compiled a most respectable tournament record; Champions of the Pavilion's Steve Garland Memorial Tournament, Runner up at the Olean Big 30 Classic, and 3rd place finishes at the Hornell State Farm Classic and Portville Invitational.
