The merged wrestling team featuring grapplers from Depew and Cleveland Hill was one to reckon with last winter, as the squad finished the 2016-17 campaign ranked in the top 10 in Western New York following efforts that led to three team members advancing to the state championship tournament.
A significant number of those wrestlers are no longer with the team, however, leaving coach Mike Lobuzzetta to concede that the squad is "definitely" in for a rebuilding year this season. Fortunately, it's not a complete start over.
