ARKPORT — For any local sports fan, it doesn't quite seem like Christmas time until hundreds of wrestlers from several different schools come to the small Village of Arkport for the annual Arkport Holiday Duels Wrestling tournament.

For the 11th annual event in 2017, 12 different schools descended on the Arkport School District, including several local teams such as Alfred-Almond, Dansville, Hornell, Livonia/Wayland-Cohocton, Wellsville and, of course, Arkport/Canaseraga.

While none of these teams would finish at the top of the rankings at the end of the weekend, they all had some very impressive performances and picked up a few wins against some of the best teams in all of Section V in East Rochester, Rush-Henrietta, Caledonia-Mumford and Odessa-Mountour.
