WELLSVILLE - Just 24 hours after dropping their home opener to the hands of Bath-Haverling in a close contest, the Lions returned to the Den in hopes of rebounding.

Entering Wellsville was both Avoca and Fillmore, as all three teams came together for a tri-meet on the mat. By the end of the night, the Lions would have the honors of bringing out the brooms for a sweep.

Out of five contested bouts in the first match on the mat, Wellsville was responsible for three victories, including a first career varsity win from Dale Ableidinger at 126 pounds to help the Lions set the tone in a tri-meet sweep over the Tigers (54-18) and Eagles (66-6) on Thursday.
