ALEXANDER — While Wednesday was National Letter of Intent day throughout the country, it was just another normal day for Alexander's Matt Gaiser.
And it was supposed to be anything but normal.
Gaiser, last year's NYS wrestling champion at 170 pounds was supposed to have the same type of moment that several other Section V student-athletes were enjoying, signing on with Division I programs, the same way former teammate Dane Heberlein inked a year ago with Binghamton University and one similar to what Lauren Hume had Wednesday signing with Niagara for swimming.
Matt's moment never came.
