PENFIELD - In the 5th grade, Frankie Gissendanner became the Penfield team manager. Even then he could beat wrestlers in high school.

"For his first few years he was known as 'Thumper' because he would come in and put a beating on some kids as such a little guy," said Penfield head coach John Leone.

When Gissendanner could join the wrestling team as a 7th grader, the wins kept piling up. He lost only one match in high school. No matter the opponent, Gissendanner was ready.
