Dr. Mark Faller qualified for the NCAA championships three years while wrestling at Harvard University and graduated from Harvard cum laude with a dual major in physics and philosophy. Following Harvard, Mark returned to his alma mater, Port Jervis High School, and guided his teams to two New York State Championships and a second in 1980. He coached all the Banach brothers, Steve, Lou and Ed, with Lou and Ed winning olympic gold and 5 NCAA championships.
Dr. Faller moved on to Franklin & Marshall and sported a 122-104-1 record against EIWA foes without the benefits of any athletic scholarships. Dr. Faller finished his career as a Professor of Philosophy at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage and presently lives in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The 2018 NWHOF Upstate New York Chapter ceremony is September 23 in East Syracuse.
