Small 2019-20 Tonawanda wrestling lineup filled with talent

NEWS

It's been a frustrating year so far for Tonawanda wrestling coach Dan Bishop.

As of press time, there are only 11 wrestlers on the roster and three are out with injuries.

Last year, Tonawanda won the ECIC Division III title outright for the first time since 1996. Zach Braddell, a four-time state champion and last year's Division II state runner-up at 138 pounds, also graduated.

"It's the smallest team I have ever coached," Bishop said. "The smallest team I had prior to this was 17. I don't have an answer for it, but I think we will be competitive in our league. We are stressing individual success."
