Dolgeville wrestler Jacob Null keeps his eye on greatness: 'It's time to make a statement'https://t.co/TSWoz9zAFN

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Dolgeville senior wrestler Jacob Null wins almost every time he takes the mat, a reality reflected by his 51-0 record and state championship at 160 pounds last season.
As much as Null enjoys getting his arm raised at the conclusion of a match, Null is at the point in his career where victory is almost expected, something of an endgame or a reward. For him, the real work comes elsewhere.
Mainly, that's in practice. Workouts are the grinder for him, a place where he searches far and wide for competition that's his equal or superior to keep making him a more ferocious wrestler.
So while Null hopes that New York state is able to squeeze in a scholastic wrestling season this winter, he doesn't view the likely loss of that opportunity as a developmental setback at this most crucial of stages.
